The line between soft drinks and wellness beverages has always felt sharply divided. Hadō prebiotic soda is looking to change that. Launched in Mumbai, the new Indian beverage combines the familiarity of classic soda with a clean-label approach, offering zero added sugar, 10g of prebiotic fibre, and no artificial preservatives, without losing the fizz people actually enjoy.

Founded by Stuti Srivastava, the idea for Hadō began while she was studying Biology at the University of Miami. What started as a search for better everyday beverages eventually led her back to an unexpected piece of family history. Her great-grandfather had operated a carbonated beverage business in Sindh during the 1930s, a legacy that was lost during Partition. Nearly a century later, Hadō marks a modern continuation of that story.

Why Hadō Prebiotic Soda Stands Out

Rather than positioning itself as another wellness drink, Hadō focuses on creating a soda that happens to be functional. Every can contains 10g of plant-based prebiotic fibre from inulin and FOS, is naturally sweetened with monk fruit, contains zero added sugar, and is made without artificial preservatives.

The brand also leans into familiar Indian flavour memories instead of following global soda trends. Guava Chilli, Lemongrass Ginger, Lychee Rose and Pineapple Coconut each come with their own personality, making the range feel playful while remaining distinctly rooted in local tastes.

Built Over Two Years

Developing a clean-label carbonated beverage wasn't straightforward. The team spent close to two years refining the recipe, completing around 100 formulation iterations and producing more than 6,000 trial cans before arriving at the final product.

The effort appears to have paid off. Hadō's first production run sold out within two months of launch, and the brand is now stocked in more than 90 retail locations across Mumbai, including Foodhall and 7-Eleven. It's also available online through Blinkit, Amazon and the brand's own website, with plans for wider national expansion.

For consumers looking for a soda that balances flavour with more thoughtful ingredients, Hadō enters the market with a proposition that feels refreshingly simple: a drink that doesn't ask you to choose between nostalgia and modern nutrition.
